Thyristor frequency converter has been reconstructed for the company of Taforge a.s., Kopřivnice. Together with three-phase separating transformer and the load of oscillatory circuit which is induction billet heater ITO 633/1-A (-L), it is used for induction heating of steel billets with circular or square cross-section up to forging temperature.
The aim of the reconstruction was to increase the reliability of its operation. During the reconstruction the current regulator SMK-UB with fifteen units was replaced by a new one containing four basic units with advanced integrated circuits CMOS. Also Programmable Logic Controller was added.
