Thyristor frequency converter has been reconstructed for the company of CPF Plzeň. Together with three-phase separating transformer and the load of oscillatory circuit it is used for induction heating of rod ends SOT 400/2,1.
The aim of the reconstruction was to increase the reliability of its operation and to change the frequency range from original 500 - 1500 Hz to 700 - 2100 Hz. During the reconstruction the current regulator SMK-UB with fifteen units was replaced by a new one containing four basic units with advanced integrated circuits CMOS. Also Programmable Logic Controller was added and water system including the thyristor coolers was changed.
